CHAN LEADS THE NEW IRELAND BY-ELECTION PROVINCIAL SEAT COUNTING

Byron Chan has taken lead in the New Ireland by-election counting in the first five Local Level Governments.

The LLGs include Nimamar, Tanir, Sentral Niu Ailan, Namatanai and Tikana (Kavieng District).

The progressive results for the primary counts are as follows.

Box 17: Byron Chan – 11 738

Box 19: Kepas Aruban Wally – 9 908

Box 10: Joshua Takin Soi – 5494

Box 18: Hosea Kalis – 1238

Box 14: Chris Gai – 840

Box 13: Moses Taram – 727

Box 12: Stanley Wapot – 400

Box 15: Nelson Hungrabos – 242

Box 11: Rhodie Paut – 137

Box 16: Joseph Willie – 81

Total Allowable Ballot Papers- 30 805

Informal Ballot Papers – 866

Total Ballot Papers – 31 671

Figures are subjected to change after all quality checks are complete for Tikana and Sentral Niu Ailan.

Distribution of boxes per LLG’s are as follows.

Nimamar – Namatanai District – 15- boxes

Tanir – Namatanai District- 14 – boxes

Sentral Niu Ailan – Namatanai District – 22 boxes

Namatanai LLG – Namatanai District – 14 boxes

Tikana LLG – Kavieng District – 18 boxes

Meanwhile, Primary Count for the following districts;

Konoagil LLG- Namatanai District – (17 boxes)

Matalai LLG- Namatanai District – 11 boxes and

Murat LLG Kavieng District – 6 boxes commenced as of 1:30 pm today. (Wednesday February 4th).

More update will be given after the quality check results are aggregated.
