According to the officer of the Minister for Energy and Member for Kairuku, Peter Isoaimo, is in stable condition and recovering well following a traffic accident along Hiritano Highway on Monday.
Speaking from his office at the National Energy Authority, Minister Isoaimo confirmed that he was medically assessed and cleared by doctors after receiving treatment. He assured the public that he is in good health and has since resumed official duties.
The Minister also confirmed that he is currently engaging with officers from the Traffic Police Unit to formally provide his report in relation to the incident. He thanked medical staff, security personnel, and members of the public for their concern and support, and reaffirmed his commitment to continuing his duties in serving the people of Kairuku District, Central Province, and Papua New Guinea.
Despite the incident, Minister Isoaimo continued with his official duties and responsibilities, which among others, attended the Central Provincial Assembly meeting in which the 2026 Provincial Budget was tabled on Tuesday, and adjourned to February 10 for debate.
The motion to adjourned to Tuesday next week was moved by Minister Isoaimo on grounds that the budget be read through and understood well by all members of the provincial assembly so they can be able to provide credible and constructive feedback during debate.
