Venues and facilities for the 2015 Pacific Games are gradually taking shape in Port Moresby.
Concerns surrounding the safety and security of athletes and officials is now being addressed.
Minister for Sport and Pacific Games, Justin Tkatchenko, has assured parties concerned of the smooth preparations to the games come 2015.
While the games village has taken shape, and the Taurama Sport and aquatic complex is progressing on time, other venues have begun ground work, and should be completed by early next year.
Minister for Sport, special events and 2015 Pacific Games Justin Tkatchenko, has taken the responsibility of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of athletes are to an exceptional standard.
The safety, security and safekeeping of all residing at the games village are a number one priority for all.
Mr. Tkatchenko emphasized the importance of the games, and using it as a platform to promote not just the country’s sporting ability, but rather the PNG way.
The Sport ministry in coordination with the Pacific Games Committee is working towards establishing the bigger and better games for the 2015 Port Moresby Pacific Games.
