Soso Urged Organisations to Work in Partnership

Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso has urged all government and private organizations inthe province to help with development.

 

The Eastern Highlands Governor took time out to meet with heads and representatives ofthe different organisations that have contributed to much ofthe development inthe province.

She said so much has been given butthere is nothing to show onthe ground;therefore, she has presented funding to various government agencies and private organizations totaling K290, 000.

 

She toldthem,the funds were given from her discretionary funds;therefore,they must implement projects wisely. The Goroka Show Committee was giventhe biggest slice ofthe funds, with plans to have its own budget in 2014.

 

Apart fromthe Goroka Show Committee,the ther recipients includedthe Behute Jail, Evangelical Bether Church Education Services, Salem Training School, JK McCarthy Museum, Lapilo Resource Centre and UOG Eastern Highlands Students Association.

 

The Representttatives ofthe organisations commendedthe Governor ofthe support as most NGO groups rely on funding to carry out much oftheir work.

 

Governor Soso urged all organisations to work in partnership to improver much ofthe needed services inthe province.
