Sepik Kick Boxing Tournament

The East and West Sepik kick boxing tournament will start in June. Both male and female will be competing in all divisions. The reason for the tournament is to select potential athletes to represent Wewak in the PNG Games. This will see up 200 to 350 athletes from Wewak alone.

Kick boxing athletes are now preparing themselves for the PNG Games. Boxing in all centers within the country are urged to be organized and run clinics or local tournaments for selection processes for the PNG Games in the lead up to the 2015 Pacific Games.

Wewak kick boxer Mark Sai is now promoting for a kick boxing tournament in his home town Wewak. Mr. Sai is a kick boxer himself and is the Provincial Manager for East and west Sepik Province. Mark will also be competing in the tournament.

Mark also said he and his boxers are well and truly organized to take on to ring with his boys; strength, power and endurance are all they need to succeed. He says this tournament is a starting point and a challenge to all boxers to see their strengths and performances.

President of Kick Boxing, South Pacific Stanley Nandex will also be present during the tournament coming in June.

His urged all kick boxers and coaches in the country to get prepared in their respective provinces and prepare themselves for the PNG Games in Lae. He says time starts now rather than waiting for the event. His emphasized more on boxers to really appreciate boxing and encourages good sportsmanship.
