The Palgei tribe in Jimi electorate has called ontheir Chairman, Steward Mark, ofthe Timber Resource Purchase Agreement to clarifythe 7 million kina payment by national Government for leasingtheir land.
The fund was released in 2012 but that money has not reachedthe rightful landowners.
“It’s been ten years now and we are still waiting for the money,” says Palgei tribe member.
“This is not an individual investment rther it is a collective investments sothe chairman must come out clear on that.
“We want a proper report to be made.”
Same sentiments were raised by Jimi MP Mai Dop onthe floor of parliament early last month.
