New Zealand’s Foreign Minister, Murray McCully, is on a visit in the country to foster business links in both private and public sector.
Minister McCully’s visit is seen as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship, and tie business prospects between the 2 nations.
In his remarks to the Port Moresby business community at the Royal Papuan Yacht Club, Mr McCully said, New Zealand’s existence in PNG’s business sector must improve.
He embraced PNG’s private sector to be instrumental despite Government’s downfall in currency, and world economies. “It’s an exciting time for New Zealand and PNG, to make their stand amongst other Pacific Nations”, said Minister McCully.
Mr McCully and his team have held closed door meetings with Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, and senior cabinet ministers this week. “The future looks bright, our dialogue will be enhanced for the betterment of these 2 nations”, added McCully.
Three major sectors PNG and New Zealand will develop are Agriculture, Renewable Energy, and Human Capacity Building.
