National Planning and Monitoring Dept sets objectives

by Vasinatta Yama – EM TV, Port Moresby

The National Planning and Monitoring Department plans to work in partnership with sister departments in 2015 to deliver major projects.

In its implementation program, it will complete its second Medium Term Development Plan and the Planning Act.

The Planning Act is the government’s new development program, to be carried out by the department.

The plan will include a service delivery framework that will ensure the three levels of government receive at least the medium level of services needed in their areas.

The Planning Act aims to link constitutional principles through the Medium Term Development Plans.

It will coincide with the five-year political cycle, creating a standard framework that will act as a guideline for the new government.

The Planning Act is also designed to monitor and evaluate the outcome of the service delivery structure.

Meanwhile, the National Planning and Monitoring Department will be tabling the Population, Water and Foreign Aid Polices next month.
