Maru: PNG’s Interest to be put First in Trade

The PNG government will make a decision next week on the first ever trade policy for the country.

The trade policy aims to put PNG first in all future trade negotiations.

Trade Minister, Richard Maru, says there is a huge trade imbalance between PNG and its trading partners, because there are no guidelines for trade.

The Department of Trade hopes to rectify this with the new policy.
