Malahang Technical Working on Becoming A Secondary School

The Malahang Technical Highschool in Lae is on its way to becoming a Technical Secondary School.

Despite challenges faced in the funding and infrastructure, the school is working on renovating their old trade classrooms, and building new infrastructure.

Today (23 October, 2018), they celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of two new buildings that is being funded by parents through paid fees.

Chairperson of the Parents and Teachers Association, Stephanie Amos said, parents have been supportive of projects in the school.

The students and teachers witnessed the groundbreaking of two more projects, the Ginson Soanu and John Rosso Buildings.

Morobe Governor Ginson Soanu committed K500,000 towards the projects.

The Malahang Technical High School has 987 students including the academic and trade students.

It is the only school in the Province that offers a duel curriculum of both academic and trade courses.

They are now slowly working on upgrading the school to become a technical secondary school.
