Sinesine Yongomugl MP, Kerenga Kua, says modernising learning facilities will improve the level of education in the country.
Mr Kua says despite the remoteness of schools, better learning technology is key to a child’s learning process. He made this statement while opening a library and computer lab in his district recently.
“Modernising learning facilities has more credibility in raising learning standards and improving the learning process,” Kua said.
Despite being a rural school, Mai Primary is the first to have a fully equipped computer lab and library.
In a separate event, Parua Primary School witnessed the launch of a newly-built double classroom in Niglguma village. The building cost K105,000 sourced through DSIP funds.
Deputy Headmaster, Simon Kuri, says this facility will help, given the increase in students’ enrollment and limited funding received by the school.
“We hope to address the overcrowding issue and help more students get into the education system,” said Mr Kuri.
Sinesine Yongomugl District aims to help remote schools in improving current learning facilities that have deteriorated over the past 30 years.
