K10. 8 million has been released from the Finance Department to pay outstanding allowances owed to members of the Joint Security Task Force.
A warrant of K21 million was issued to the Finance Department to fast-track the payment.
Overall, each JSTF member is expected to receive K9, 000 each for the total 18 days work.
An initial payment for the first nine days was released today (November 21).
The other K10.8 million will be released next week.
The funds were released after members of the JSTF vandalized the National Parliament House yesterday (November 20) over frustrations of delayed allowances.
The JSTF includes security personnel from the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, the Papua New Guinea Defense Force and Correctional Officers.
