Goilala Needs to Catch Up, says New President

Goilala’s newly elected local level government presidents have vowed to bring tangible development and services totheir people.

 

Guari LLG President Patrick Bewae said Goilala has a lot of catching up to do in terms of infrastructure and service delivery.

Mr. Bewae saidthey will work closely withtheir local member, Daniel Mona, to deliverthese services.

 

Two LLG presidents and 11 ward councilors were sworn in atthe Tapini station on Wednesday.

 

Anxious villagers fromthe 3 LLGs – Tapini, Woitape and Guari fronted up atthe district administration office atthe Tapini station to withnessthe inaugural swearing in ceremony.

 

Tapini and Guari swore intheir LLG presidents and ward councilors atthe council chambers.

 

They werethen led in a procession tothe arena to be introduced tothe people.

 

The lLeaderssaidthe people have been deprived of much needed services overthe years.

 

They vowed to work in unison withtheir member to bring lasting change tothe district andthe people for the better.

 

There was heavy police presence during polling and counting. Officials reported a safe and trouble free election.

 

Woitape isthe only LLG yet to declare its president and ward councilors.
