City Pharmacy Limited’s Head Office and warehouse at Gerehu in Port Moresby was engulfed in flames last night.
Properties worth millions of kina including pharmaceutical drugs, store goods and vehicles, were destroyed.
EMTV arrived at the scene this morning to see remnants of the building.
According to Pacific Corporate Security guards who were on night duty at the CPL premises, the fire started at 10:15 in the night.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started from the kitchen area and eventually spread throughout the entire building.
Three fire service units from Gerehu, Waigani and Down Town responded to put out the blaze, but their efforts were in vain.
This warehouse is the lifeline of the company where all pharmaceutical goods, including store goods, were destroyed in the fire.
