Business PNG 2013 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook Report

 

ThPNG economy is expected to grow at 6.1 per cent in 2013, an improverment of 4 per cent projected atthe time ofthe 2013 Budget. This is according tothe 2013 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook Reportowhich was presented by Minister for Treasury Don Polye, at a business breakfast hosted bythe Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce andIndustry inthe beginning ofthe month.

This edition focuses onthe 2013 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook Reportoas presented by Minister for Treasury Don Polye and ends with an interview with Mr. Polye inthe final segment where he elaborates onthe report.

 

This episode begins fromthe international scene, looking attheWorld Economic Outlook, andthen focuses tothe Domestic Economic and Fiscal Outlook.In this episode,the performance ofthe major sectors inthPNG economy, with particular concentration onthe agriculture, forestry, fisheries sector are highlighted. Lower trade in major mineral exports andthe increase in deficit are also highlighted. Also covered are areas of employmentoinflation and Government’spending priorities.
