Hunters Prove Superior

By Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

The SP PNG Hunters continue their march toward the Intrust Super Cup finals, after yet another win over the Wynum Manly Seagulls yesterday afternoon at the Sir John Guise Stadium, in Port Moresby.

The hunters started the game poorly with a few unforced errors which caused the Seagulls to take an early lead.

The home side struggled to make use of opportunities, giving the visitors an early lead going into half time 13 – 6.

In the second half the hunters ran back onto the pitch looking more determined to get back into the contest, and began with a penalty seeing the scores 13 – 8.

From then on, the hunters looked like a completely different side from the first half creating opportunities and going on a scoring frenzy much to the crowds delight.

The SP Hunters went on to seal the match 36 – 13 and now share the top spot on the Intrust Super Cup ladder with the Townsville Blackhawks.
