School dropouts and the young people of Usino Bundi District have been given the second chance to be educated thanks to a life skills training course.
70 students graduated recently and are now aiming to work in the district and help deliver services to the people. Out of the 70 students, some are parents, who are now able to obtain a certificate in accounting, computing or business management.
This provides a big step forward for many of the participants.
The group were sponsored by the Usino Bundi District to attend courses at the Highlands Youth Training Centre in Banz, Jiwaka. Two graduated with a Diploma in Accounting, while the remainder received certificates in Office Management, Accounting and Computing.
Usino Bundi MP, Anton Yagama, says the district wants to see its youth and elite hold jobs in the district that will see new mines and other projects starting in the not-too-distant future.
“This opportunity will see more of our dropouts to study and increase the district’s human capacity,” Yagama said.
