In this episode of Women’s World; a father is the first man that a daughter looks up to and plays a very important role in the life of his daughter. But often, we underestimate the significance of fatherhood. We share that important father-daughter bond with a master carver, Philip Tomo, from Angoram in East Sepik Province, who makes carvings to sell. The income he generates from his skills allowed Phillip to care for his only daughter. He lives in Kerevat, ENBP. He is now 86, and his daughter is now 49 years old, with 5 children of her own. The tables have turned, and she now continues to take care of her father. This story is certainly one that highlights the strength of single parents, and fathers.
We also speak to PNG’s first female Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Commander of the AROB Police, Joanne Clarkson.
