Students studying accounting at Goroka Technical College in Eastern Highlands will have a chance to proceed to degree studies atthe University of Papua New Guinea
This followsthe A Memorandum of Agreement betweenthe two institutions.
Goroka Technical College is one ofthe Technical and Vocational Education Training institutions.
Present were representatives from various education sectors including University of Papua New GuineaVice Chancellor Professor Albert Mellam, and Assistant Education Secretary TVET Monica Maluan.
College Principal Sugerepa Lutogo saidthe MOA paves way for students’to pursue studies atthe university level.
Professor Mellam saidthe agreement represents a clear bridge between a technical college and a university in provisions terms of business education.
He explained Goroka Technical College was grantedthe accreditation for fulfilling academic and audit requirements.
Withthe MOA signing, graduating students’with diploma in accounting will now enrol directly to third year of UPNGs bachelors program.
