A watch dog on government’service delivery has placed resource rich provinces as failures inthe delivery of basic services.
It’sthe National Economic and Fiscal Commission.
It namedthe provinces as Western, New Ireland, Morobe, West New Beitain, Southern Highlands and Enga.
These Resource rich provinces have been outperformed again by lower funded provinces inthe latest 2011 Provincial Expenditure Review report.
According to Mr Suve, basic service deliveries obligations of health, education, transport infrastructure maintenance, primary production and village courts were not fully implemented.
Administration spending has increased, receivingthe biggest slice of internal revenue with forty per cent.
“Althoughthey are puttingtheir money into goods and services, they are not putting it tothe level that we want,” said Suve.
For this reason, the commission has written tothe treasury department for a review extension, to ensure critical service delivery activities are adequately funded.
Mr Suve says funds must be monitored to enable citizen’s access services.
