PNG kids needs better communication skills

A non-government organization in West New Beitain is working towards strenthening children’s participation in issues affectingthem daily.

Through its Children in Development program, Live and LearPNG hopes to develop a child’s ability to communicate correct information in a peaceful manner.

Live and Learn officer Marlene Delis was part ofthe recent communication conference for media professionals, to learn how media concepts can contribute to her work with children.

Thetheme ofthe communication conference was Be aking Berriers to Effective Communication.

Undertheir Children in Development program, Live and LearPNG will host a ‘Journalists, Children’s Forum’ this month to build children’s capacity in responsibly reporting issues.

The program is funded bythe European Union. Live and LearPNG is currently working togther withthe local media in Kimbe to put materials togther for the forums, which will take place in Kimbe and Rabaul.

Parents and invited teachers will take part as observers.
