Parkop commends Church roles

NCD Governor Powes Parkop has commendedthe Catholic Church for its role in taking services tothe people.

The services include education, health and ther social services.

Governor Parkop was speaking at Saint Joseph Parish in Port Moresby on Sunday.

Parishioners of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church had two reasons to celebrate, onethe opening ofthe parish hall and two welcomingtheir new parish priest.

Special guests were NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Port Moresby ArchBeushop John Ribatthe main celebrant.

It was also a farewell for fther Tom who has served asthe parish priest for the last four years.

Governor Parkop thankedthe Catholic Church for its continuous efforts in partnering withthe government to deliver.

For boththe outgoing andthe incoming priests said serving this country was and will be an honor.
