The scheduled Public Accounts CommitteeInquiry in Port Moresby yesterday had to be cancelled over lack of quorum.
This isthe second time this year.
An embarrassed Chairman ofthe Committee Begia MP John Hickey expressed disappointment that committee members continue to fail.
Mr Hickey sat alone inthe Be conference room atthe Parliament house; his fellow PAC members absent. TheInquiry, scheduled for ten o’clock was cancelled at ten to eleven when PAC members did not turn up.
The inquiry wasthe third for the Department of Finance, Treasury and Planning. They’re being questioned overthe public finances report of 2008 which has highlighted failures in accounting, record keeping and corporate governance.
The matter of absenteeism will be brought tothe leader for Government Business.
