Traditional knowledge and practice of building houses using materials from the bush is a unique skill, among many villages around Papua New Guinea.
During a visit to Oro Province, to the communities of Horau Haruru, Eroro and Baga, traditional knowledge of building houses is still maintained.
All houses in the communities including platforms, toilets and small market stalls were built, nicely with materials from the bushes.
These traditional homes portray the importance of preserving the traditional knowledge, which can be passed onto the future generation for use. See below a selection of beautiful homes.
