The Oro Football Club, participating in the National Soccer League competition got a timely boost from BSP today as they prepare to embark on a strong campaign this season.
Bank South Pacific presented in kind, shirts, caps and bags to the players and coaching staffs of the Oro Football club taking part in the NSL competition as part of their sponsorship to the club.
Oro Governor and club Patron, Garry Juffa was present during the small ceremony and acknowledged the company’s contribution to the team.
He said he was very happy with the sponsorship from PNGs leading bank and encouraged more financial houses to support other sporting teams in the same way.
ORO FC Captain Gari Moka who is the most seasoned player in the team, along with defender Cambell Misirait, were thrilled with the sponsorship given to the club and stated that the club has development plans as well, and is not focused on playing in a seasonal competition.
With Hekari taking on Admiralty in the late afternoon, a win against Eastern Stars tomorrow, will place Oro in a good position to start the year.
And while Eastern Stars will prove tough opposition, Oro Assistant Coach, Mathew Witu said the team has prepared well for the encounter.
After the draws against Admiralty, Oro is hoping for a much improved result against Eastern Stars outfit that was on the verge last week, of dishing out the competition’s biggest upset when they almost beat reigning the champions Hekari.
But with a new corporate backer, Oro will be going in to the match financially settled, and fully fit.
