A new contractor will be tasked to finish the collapsed Banab Bridge in Madang Province.
Works Secretary, David Wereh, said there were a number of issues faced by the first contractor, and the department is seeking advice from the Public Tender’s Board to review the contract.
He also said ongoing law and order issues in the area, are also a factor to why work has stopped.
In April, an expatriate contractor working on the bridge died, after he was attacked by criminals
The Banab Bridge collapsed in February this year after a semi-trailer broke the support structure of the bridge.
