Business with Indonesia

The business sector in Papua New Guineahas agreedthere are endless opportunities when it comes to doing business withIndonesia.

President ofthe Papua New GuineaChamber of Business and Commerce, John Leahy, says it is now up tothe businesses to identify specific areas of investment.

 

Mr. Leahy says atthe moment it’s a small relationship withIndonesia but both are emerging countries with similar growth. There seems to be a whole range of opportunities.Indonesia has committed to sending a business delegation of it’s own later this year.

 

Mr. Leahy said that he was particularly impressed withtheIndustrial Park in Jakarta. A place where businesses flourish, withthe availability of stable power, water and telecommunication.

 

Air Niugini is set to benefit with an air services agreement already signed. Air Niugini will fly direct to Beli starting early August.Indonesia’s Geruda Airlines will have reciprocal rights to land at Jacksons airport and Nazab as well through a code sharing agreement.

 

Mr Mcllwain could not disclose any costs but said it would be an attractive package.
