Boxing Bagged 8 Goals for PNG

The Papua New Guinea boxing team bagged 8 gold medals in the Pacific Games, being ranked number 1 in the Pacific.

The biggest cheers belonged to PNG’s Jonathan Keama, in the men’s middleweight division, who performed extremely well throughout the Pacific Games. 

Jonathan Keama putting on an outstanding performance during the Pacific Games, brought roars from the crowd as they cheered him on after defeating Tahitian opponent, Tautuarii Nena, by a Technical Knockout in the play off for Gold.

Keama, recently being discovered in the PNG Games, proved that he could be one of PNG’s best boxers.

PNG’s other five gold medals came from Charles Keama in the light fly division, Lui Magaiva in the fly division, Henry Uming  in bantam, Thadius Katua in light and Boxing captain Tom Boga in the light welter.

The women also taking out gold in their respective divisions in the likes of Philo MagaiVa’and Debbie kaore; and Raphella Baki settled for Silver.
