A delegation from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Minister for Sports, Pacific Games and National Events, delivered presentations and answered questions relating to national preparedness to host the Asia Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC) meeting.
This will be the biggest most prestigious event PNG will host so preparations are crucial and updates will be given constantly.
Among the dignitaries who will attend the Summit are Presidents of US and China.
The delegation advised APEC’s Budget Management Committee in Singapore that Papua New Guinea is laying the foundations to host APEC in 2018.
The delegation said Papua New Guinea has a clear plan for ensuring that all logistics and delegate services will be in place ahead of time.
Between now and the APEC Leaders’ Summit in late 2018, thousands of officials and businesspeople will visit Papua New Guinea which will stimulate business and jobs, while the broader policy outcome of APEC will increase PNG’s trade with the region.
