PNG Netball announced a 17 member train-on squad for theWorld Youth Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in August.
The team was finalized after a five month training program and aims to improver in world rankings.
TheWorld Youth Championships are scheduled for the 22nd tothe 31st of August.
The initial 25 member train-on squad has been cut down afterthe first selection trials held duringthe Queen’s Berthday weekend.
The training camp was conducted by former Pepes and Sydney based Gima Rupa Crowdy who is an Australian level 2 badged high performance coach.
Ridding ofthe success ofthe recent performance ofthe Pacific MMI PepePNG netball is optimistic thatthese next levels of players are onthe right path.
Fifty precent ofthe current train-on squad comprises of a number of current Pepes who came second to Fiji atthe recent Pacific Netball series in Samoa.
President oPNG Netball Federation Julienne Maliaki saysthe Pepes team Members will add value in play and court experience tothe Under-21 side.
The recent training camp has seen fitness levels at quite a high standard anPNG netball is excited about its player pathway program that will be put in place.
