Vipers to Face Gurias in Major Semi-Final

Stop and Shop Port Moresby Vipers will live anther day to face reigning premieres, Agmark Rabaul Gurias, inthe major semi-final ofthe Digicel Cup challenge.

Bentangor Goroka Lahanis will standby to meetthe winner of that match after defeating Gurias in Goroka.

 

Enga Mioks went into this match, confident of causing an upset over Port Moresby Vipers inthe playoffs ofthe Digicel Cup competition atthe Lloyd Robson Oval.

 

Vipers took advantage ofthe home crowd and ran in 3 tries to lead comfortably, at 16 points inthe first half ofthe match.

 

Mioks bounced back with an unconverted try to takethe match into half time.

 

The second half saw Vipers dominate with ball possession scoring a try, through inside center Richard Kambo and forward Adam Korave.

 

The tries had Vipers supporters celebrating butthe Mioks fans weren’t as happy withthe outcome, as supporters threw objects on field.

 

Match referee had to call offthe game for a good 20 minutes, while security and Police trlied to calm supporters down.

 

After allthe commotion, it was back to business, as Mioks managed a try but it was much too late for the visitors to make a comeback, asthey succumbed to Vipers 16-28.
