Tutumang Pass 2014 Budget

The provincial Executive council ofthe Morobe Provincial Government,the Tutumang, handed downthe budget of K373 million late yesterday.

The budget increased by a K23 million fromthe 2013 K250 million provincial budget.

 

K276 million came fromthe national government’s grant whilethe provincial government is expected to generate about K96 million from its internal revenues.

 

The Morobe governor, Kelly Naru said areas that will stimulate economic growth inthe province overthe next two years will receive most ofthe money fromthe budget.

 

Likethe national governments policies handed down in Novermber,the Morobe Provincial government has also aligned its goals and priorities alongthe same path.

 

Almost half ofthe budget will go towardsthe development of infrastructure, health and education inthe province.  

 

The provincial government also expects to make additional revenue internally from Goods and Services Tax, liquor Licensing, Traffic Registry, bookmakers and Mining royalties.
