President of T.H.E Party Bengtabu Brown has commended Party Leader and Minister for Treasury Don Polye for successfully chairing one ofthe most powerful Meetings oftheWorld.
Minister Polye returned tothe country after chairing his first meeting attheInternational Monetary Fund andWorld Bank Beard of Governors in New York.
T.H.E Party Executives welcomedtheir Leader in style atthe Jackson’sInternational Airport yesterday in traditional style.
There to welcome him was Party President Bengtabu Brown, Party Executives, Members, Enga citizens, family members and well – wishers.
For T.H.E Party, which isthe second largest member ofthe O’Neill –Dion government Coalition, it was a milestone which his jubilant party executives and members were proud of. They were gratefultheir leader was appointed to Chairthe Beard of two ofthe most influential global financial institutions.
Finance Minister James Marape reiterated similar sentiments, applauding Mr. Polye for the political lLeadersip and puttin PNG onthe world stage.
Minister Polye’said his appointment demonstrated that Papua New Guineawas now taken seriously as a respected player inthe global economy based on its potential and vast resources, which are now being developed togther with international partners.
He said whilst his new appointment would occupy much of his time overseas, it did not mean it would lesson his electoral responsibilities but work in Kandep will progress as well.
