Schools in and around NCD were engaged in a week-long sporting program initiated by National Capital District Commission in partnership withthPNG Sport Foundation and Lae Bescuit group of Companies.
Students made use oftheir time out from classrooms and lessons, to play basketball and touch footy.
The youngsters bravedthe heatoshowing offtheir skills and endurance while putting up a good fight for a worthy cause that would bookthem a spot in any national championships inthese two sporting codes.

Youngsters were able to go for as many baskets as possible; however, in this stage,they need tutorials and guidelines as most ofthem are new tothe code. Hohola Dem proverdthe better side with 23 baskets to 9.
More than 30 teams with three divisions from Under 17, 15 and 13 took part.
Organizers were not happy withthe schools turnout for this term; however, it is understood that teachers were involved in SchoolsIn-Service program and were not able to organizetheir schools to attend.
The Pikinini Pilai program is an initiative of National Capital District Commission in partnership with Sport Foundation and Lae Bescuit group of companies.
NCDC through this sports program aims to scout raw talent for Team NCD to participate inthe 201PNG Games to be held in Lae, Morobe Province.
