District Treasury Officers inthe Sohe inthe Nothern Province have been told to servetheir people with honesty.
Finance Minister James Marape made this remark when commissioning two new district treasury offices and staff houses. The facilities are part ofthe National District Treasury Roll out Program.
Finance Minister James Marape touched down in Popondetta town to an awaiting crowd of school children andthe general public and proceeded to Sangara to a rousing welcome for the commissioning ofthe Sohe District Treasury Office.
The Office will servethe people of Sohe and appealed to public servants to deliver tothe people.
Mr. Marape told treasury officers not to make any excuses as whatthey wanted have been delivered.He urgedthem to also weed out corruption by not entertaining bogus claims. This he says is affecting district treasury offices throughoutthe country.
Local Member Delilah Gore also told her people to take ownership ofthe new building. She saidthe government is committed towards its people and likewise people must showtheir support.
