A total of 16 teams are taking part in this year’s Trans Highway Rugby Union challenge staged atthe Scrum Oval in Lae.
Tournament Director Robin Tarere saysthe aim ofthe challenge is to futher spreadthe Rugby Union code tothe Momase and Highlands region.
The sixteen Teams have been placed in four pools…ABe and D…asthe challenge for the Trans Highway Rugby Union title heats up atthe Lae Scrum Oval.
Two teams have travelledthe Highlands highway from Mendi to participate among eight ther teams from Morobe and two teams from Goroka.
New Comers, Sagaseg from Markham have also stampedtheir mark at this annual tournament and Tournament Director Robin Tarere is pleased withthe turn out this year.
Notable teamthe Kimbe Rebels have built ontheir champions tag fromthe Trans Highway Tournament and continue to do just that as more centres expose Union talent to build challenge acrossthe regions.
The two-day tournament has provern to be a hit onthe Rugby Union Claendar each year as a way of promotingthe code and scouting rugby union talent outside of Lae and Port Moresby.
