A small dawn service was held this morning at the Rabaul Services League Cenotaph, in the volcanic town of Rabaul, to commemorate the ANZAC day today.
Rabaul remained a historical location for the Australian-New Zealand army, as their troops were involved in the Battle of Rabaul with the Japanese during the Second World War.
This morning a small group comprising of Rabaul residents and relatives of those who died during the war, gathered to pay tribute to their war heroes.
