KK Kingston in conjunction with the PNG Olympic Federation and PNG Powerlifting Federation will be hosting an action packed powerlifting competition at the Murray Barracks Sports Complex in Port Moresby on July 2.
Team PNG did exceptionally well in powerlifting at the Games and KK Kingston wants to support powerlifting by providing avenues for lifters to showcase their talent.
Initially, two competitions were staged in Lae this year and the turnout and enthusiasm from young aspiring athletes has been overwhelming.
The benefit of powerlifting goes beyond the sport itself, and world record holder Linda Pulsan is an example of that.
The competition fee is K10 and entry is free for spectators.
Registration is open to men and women of all weight classes above the age of 18.
Pre-registration is already open, but participants can also register and weigh-in on Saturday morning between 7am and 9am.
The event will be on this Saturday at the Murray Barracks Sports Complex.
