POM AFL Enter Round 16

Entering round 16 this weekend, Port Moresby’s Esi Loan Premier AFL competition, the Men’s Reserve division saw Central Bombers take on concept Koboni’s while the Cats were on a prowl against the Dockers.

In a close encounter, Koboni were placed to play catch up against the Bombers.

Despite the late notice of a change in venues, clubs, players and Port Moresby’s AFL fraternity made the effort to turn up and kick off matches at the Taurama Barracks Ovals today.

The first men’s reserve matches saw rivals, Central Bombers take on Koboni in a tight match.

The first half saw Bombers managed to get the ball out of the ruck and take the lead with 3-goals and 4-behinds to Koboni’s 2-goals and 2-behinds.

The third and fourth quarter was no different, with both sides shattering opportunities for goal attempts.

Bombers wrapped up the game with a 6 point margin to take the game, 34 points to 28 against Koboni at the final whistle.

In other men’s reserve match, the Bomana Cats took on Dockers in a one sided affair.

Although the Docker’s kept them scoreless in the first quarter, the Cats came back with a prowl in the second and third quarter to lead the game at 20 points, eventually taking out the match.
