Port Moresby Hockey Competition Updates

Share the News

After Round fourteen matches in Port Moresby Hockey, the  competition had front runners Zogole took on Sunam in a highly entertaining and fiery,  Men’s A division match.

Zogole had taken an early two goal lead and looked to extend that before a fight-back from Sunam saw them reduce the deficit and eventually equalize.

Zogole had placed a huge amount of pressure on Sunam’s defence which had to work hard to withstand the onslaught of Zogole’s attack.

But good play from Sunam’s defence saw them create space behind Zogole’s players, and they were easily able to outnumber their opponents by quick counter-attacking.

In the Women’s A division, Bismark defeated the Seagulls, three goals to two. Bismark, led by Terry Kiapin had looked likely to score from the onset but looked shaky at the back.

Seagulls and Wanderers had big three nil victories respectively in the Women’s B division while Bismark and Global Crust had a draw.
