New Market For Sabama

A new dawn for the Moresby South Electorate. People in this area are fortunate to have a new market built with expensive materials.

Like any ther urban settlement in Papua New Guineathe area is negatively regarded as a haven for criminal gangs, but this will be a thing ofthe past.    

 

The area is now undergoing tangible development. The responsible member is working closely withthe community and business houses in a public private partnership program to deliver basic services.  

 

The new market comes as a Christmas gift.

 

Planning Minister and Member for Alotau, Charles Abel, was among invited guests who attendedthe opening ceremony. Minister Abel openly voiced his concern, notingthe importance of havingthe community needs delivered and accessible to all. 

 

There are talks to relocatethe urban settlements, paving way for developmentohowever it may not eventuate as NCD Governor Powes Parkop has plans to transform all settlements in NCD into suburbs.    

 

Member for Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko made sure his electorate has become part and parcel ofthe Port Moresby changing trend.

 

Moresby South comprises mainly of settlements, and services fromthe government are paramount.

 

The market roofing contains foam which acts as insulation to battle heatoproviding cool shelter for mthers who selltheir produce who were not able to use ther markets in Port Moresby.

 

Mr. Tkatchenko has appointed members ofthe community to managethe market.  The market will be open tothe public as of tomorrow.
