In their final home game of the 2015 Intrust Super Cup season, the SP PNG Hunters gave their fans something to cheer about when they walked over the Burleigh Bears 44-24 at Sir John Guise Stadium.
The Hunters started the match well, posting the first try of the afternoon through Esau Siune, followed by their captain, Israel Eliab, stepping past the opposition to extend the Hunters lead going into half time.
Full back, Stargroth Amean, got the crowd on their feet, scoring again for the Hunters to extend their lead to 16-0.
The Bears regrouped in the second half and replied with two tries but it was a case of too little too late. Hunters winger Adex Wera scored to see the margin move out to eight points, before the pride of PNG piled on the tries late in the game to come away with a 20 point win.
