Gembogl’s Five Year Plan Launched

National Parliament Speaker, Theo Zurenouc, was in Gembogl station in the Chimbu Province to launch Kundiawa Gembogl’s “5 Year Development Plan”.

The Speaker flew into the district and was accompanied by several members of parliament from the province.

Hundreds turned up to see the Speaker and witness the occasion at Gembogl station last Friday.

National Parliament Speaker and member for Finschafen, Theo Zurenouc was there on an invitation from member Tobias Kulang.

Part of the delegation was Simbu Governor, Noah Kool, and Kerowaghi MP, Camillus Dangama.

People lined up to welcome the Speaker and many sing sing groups performed to welcome the delegation.

On foot to welcome the Speaker were all LLG presidents and the ward councilors, the Provincial police commander and public servants from the provincial government.

The Speaker was then led to the grandstand to deliver his speech.

He took the opportunity to challenge the government not only to partner with churches, but recognize the immediate needs of all mainline churches in funding their operational costs.

He said for so long, the government has only partnered with churches in small ways. In his view, the government could do more to involve the church.

The reason for the removal of artifacts from Parliament House was another point the Speaker emphasized in his speech.

Kundiawa Gembogl’s 5 year plan 2013 to 2017 was then launched.

The plan has 4 pillars aimed at promoting effective governance and improved economy.
