A house in Port Moresby went up in flames inthe early hours yesterday. The house belonged to Magistrate,the late Aivo Cappo.
No one was hurt andthe cause ofthe fire is being investigated.
Its ashes and rumbles today but when it’stood, ownership had been disputed sincethe passing away of former magistrate Aivo Cappo in late 2007. Two separate groups have claimed ownership. Cappo’s family has been evicted andthe house was unoccuplied.
The family received a phone call early yesterday advisitgthem thatthe house was in flames. According to an eye withness,the fire services arrived whenthe house was already razed down tothe ground.
The cause ofthe fire is still unknown.
