Morobe Education Division officers covered a workshop last week on the province’s five year education plan.
The 10 year Provincial Education Plan, 2006-2016, will expire at the end of this year.
The new plan will contribute towards achieving Vision 2050.
Officers of the Morobe Education Division, including the Senior Professional Advisor for Education, District Education Managers and the Provincial Program Education Advisor, worked on the five year plan in Lae last week.
The Provincial Education Plan is developed by provinces all around the country.
Morobe Education Officers were assisted by the Acting Regional Statistic Planning Officer for Southern, Kaminiel Irima, who was in the province to assist.
The new plan is aligned with the National Education Plan, and schools throughout the provinces should be able to use it to implement their activities.
Previously, provinces set out 10 year plans, with this now changing to five as to easily monitor and evaluate their work.
There are six focus areas of the National Education Plan that the provincial plan covers.
These include access and equity, teachers and teaching and system strengthening.
The National Planner, Kaminiel Irima, encourage provinces to assist the national planners to develop their provincial plans.
