THE national government has committed K1 million to support more Sepik athletes in the 2012 PNG Games thanks to East Sepik Governor Peter Wararu.
Codes that have qualified include disabled sports, darts, boxing and kickboxing.
Others have to submit their interest by May.
Under the leadership of John Ulu, the Team Sepik committee is organised and ready for the challenge.
They are arranging fundraising drives to help send more codes to the games.
Ulu asked interested individuals or codes to see the committee to be given a set of criteria to prove their eligibility before they could take part.
Technical advisor Terence Moka stressed good performance and conduct were equally important in selecting athletes.
He asked codes apart from darts to provide information as final selections would be on the Easter weekend.
The committee also called on the provincial government to help with K500,000 for the running of the district competitions so that participants from all over the province could have a chance to be selected.
