Defence Unethical Behaviour On Field

The shortage of match officials remains an issue for the Capital Rugby Union competition.

Following Defence Rugby Club’s devastating loss against the University Pigs match, referee Paul Joseph copped a lot of unethical behaviour on the field from players at the weekend.

It was certainly a match worth catering for, the undefeated Defence Premier boys, lost their first match of the season to the crowd favored University Piggies.

There was a lot of speculation on how the match was conducted and officiated.

Due to the shortage of referees and match officials, Competition interim manager of the CRU, was forced to ref the match to save both teams from withdrawing.

This incident comes after Defence players started back chatting and throwing inappropriate language around the field, as Paul Joseph made judicial calls against both teams.

Nearing the end of the season, the Capital Rugby Union is ashamed with the way particular clubs have carried themselves, and believes this does not portray the message rugby relays of unity and prosperity.
