Western Province Provincial Assembly is challenging a National Court decision that has blocked the Provincial Government, from accessing landowner funds.
Over K40 million for environmental damages have been kept in trust accounts, were used for projects in the province.
Western Province Governor Ati Wabiro, says the court order will affect lives of the majority, as services cannot be delivered through these funds.
Yesterday in its first meeting, the Provincial Government agreed to engage Posman Kua Aisi lawyers, to challenge that decision.
The Governor is concerned that a number of impact projects will be put on hold due to the order in place.
He was backed by Tutae Gire, the Chairlady for Education and Manpower Development in the Province.
Gire said women and children will be the ones affected the most, and individuals should not take matters to court for their own personal gain.
The Provincial Assembly says those individuals that have taken this to court are not mandated leaders.
