Ben Ryan to Join Flying Fijians for Rugby World Cup

By Lorraine Genia – EM TV Sports

Fijian Sevens coach Ben Ryan is expected to join the Vodafone Flying Fijians to assist with their Rugby World Cup campaign.

Coach John McKee told the Fiji Sun, “Ryan would provide an extra pair of eyes”.

“With Ben’s experience, it’s always great to have someone a little bit from the outside looking in.

“He might be able to point out a couple of things that we haven’t thought of.

“I’m not a 100 per cent sure whether he will be here for our game against England, but he will be here within the last two weeks of September,” McKee said.

The Fijian’s have had a good build up into the World Cup, recently crowned champions of the 2015 Pacific Nations Cup in August.

After defeating Canada 47-18 earlier this week, they pose a potential threat in their pool including Australia, England and Wales.

Fiji has the advantage of a physical forward pack, as well as speed and agility on the wing.

With the leadership of Leone Nakarawa, and Netani Talei, who have three world cup appearances under their belt, the underdog team is hoping to cause an upset against the world rugby giants.

Fiji will take on England who is ranked fourth in the world in the opening match of the 2015 Rugby World Cup on 18 September 2015.

Fiji Pool Matches:

Friday September 18 2015: Fiji v England (Twickenham, London)

Wednesday September 23 2015: Fiji v Australia (Millennium Stadium, Cardiff)

Thursday October 1 2015: Fiji v Wales (Millennium Stadium, Cardiff)

Tuesday October 6 2015: Fiji v Uruguay
