An attack on a Lae City Council contractor has angered Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru, who has since called for communities to get tothe roots of what he calls a moral decay.
At about 11am, the contractor, who stopped a man from throwing rubbish, was kicked and punched in front of Angau Hospital by several men.

The pictures show a group of contractors running away leaving behind a lone member of the group.
Several thersthen jointhe fight and what follows is a brutal attack on a fellow Papua New Guinea.
Yesterday, Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru expressed disgust overthe incident.
“If we don’t get a collective stand to fight this kind of behavior it will get out of hand,” he said.
This is just one of many attacks that have happened in public. Domestic arguments have also been taken tothe public roadside.
Yesterday’s incident has promptedthe Morobe Governor to call for more community involvement in getting tothe roots ofthe ongoing violence.
All this comes just weeks afterthe Beack Cat incident in Wau where three porters were killed and several thers seriously injured.
